Preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.
- Preparing all local purchase orders based on estimates and quotations received from local vendors.
- Preparing bank reconciliation and Post-dated cheque maturity.
- Preparing vendor payments – local and foreign.
- Assisting in preparing staff salary and leave salary cheques.
- Checking of cash deposits from respective stores on daily basis.
- Preparing salesmen incentives cheques and maintaining records in excel.
- To prepare and ensure timely payments for telephone bills, petrol, water, and electricity.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience
- Must be engaging and enthusiastic, a self-starter
- Able to work under pressure
- Sense of Urgency
- Changing legislation
- Compliance with local legislation
